In Module 1 we examined communication policies, policy directives and principles to be considered when disseminating data to the media in Canada, Jamaica, and Barbados.
Module Overview
There are different types of media which are used to package information for public consumption. In this Module we will explore the different types of media and analyse the media landscape for two jurisdictions (Jamaica and Barbados). Emphasis will also be placed on expectations when dealing with journalists and preparing data for their use.
The module will focus on the following areas:
1. Types and characteristics of Media
2. The Media Landscape (Jamaica, Barbados)
3. What to expect when dealing with journalists.

By the end of this module, you will:
1. Identify the different types and media.
2. Select media for different situations.
3. Analyse media landscape in a selected jurisdiction.
4. Outline what to expect when dealing with journalists.
